Review:
We were able to meet with our DJ before our wedding to discuss what kinds of music we wanted played. They also had a fabulous online event planner where we could make our own playlist, depending on what time of the evening it was. There was a must-play option, as well as categories to fill in for the mother-son and father-daughter dance, as well as our first dance. You are even able to choose what type of DJ you want so, if like us, you prefer someone who isn’t jumping all over the place you are in luck with Instant Request. Even my dad, who wasn’t too keen on the idea of a DJ – he thought it would be cheesy – was impressed by the level of professionalism displayed during our wedding reception.

Jesse, was super friendly made me feel very comfortable and really responsive! Which was great because it was stressful towards the date of the wedding so quick responses were appreciated!

Useful, and fun to use. My family and I really enjoyed picking out songs!
3.Did the DJ meet your expectations? Was he a good fit to your style?

Yep!

I trusted DJ Jesse right away. My family and I sometimes have some eclectic tastes in music (and we had a lot of must play songs), but I told Jesse that its more important to me to have people dancing all night versus hearing all the songs I selected. He said that’s what he’d do, and he did!

I used Instant Request for my Mill City Museum wedding in August 2012. The DJ we worked with was Justin Roff, he was amazing! We had a very complicated, multicultural ceremony and reception and he pulled it off seamlessly. He was very accommodating and professional. Leading up to the wedding, I had a lot of last minute requests for songs and Instant Request was very reactive and was able to get me the obscure songs requested by my foreign family in time for the wedding. When it came to the lights and slide show, I didn’t know where it would look best or what to do with them, so Justin/Instant Request made those choices for me, I showed up and it was all set up beautifully. Working with them was stress free and easy. They were very organized and professional. They were very reasonably priced and I would have paid a lot more to receive the same service from them again. The DJ was one of my biggest concerns because I had been to weddings where bad music and a bad flow can make an event boring for the guests. The music was great, our dance floor was full all night. We made some suggests but not many, Justin was able to guide us through his experience of what was best to get the party going and it worked beautifully. I would highly recommend them to anyone, you won’t regret using them! If I host any parties again in the future, I will 100% use them again!

The average cost of a wedding in MN is nearly $24,000! Keeping a wedding on budget
can be very difficult. We’ll let you in on a few secrets that will help make your money
go farther on your big day!

1.) Most vendors give “off-season discounts.” Consider a wedding in November through May. You’ll be amazed!
2.) Most vendors will also give a discount for non-Saturday weddings. Fridays are the new Saturday, and often a fraction of the cost!
3.) Hors d’ oeuvres instead of a sit down meal? It’s trendy, and less expensive!
4.) Avoid planning around holidays. Though vendors may have more availability, rates will be higher.
5.) Plan your budget to include gratuities. These are often overlooked, and will considerably affect your budget after the big night!
6.) Hire vendors like DJs, Photographers, and Florists who specialize in their field. They may be slightly more expensive at first glance, but in the long run will save you money on last minute changes or missing details.
