Name: Derek Hanisch
Derek was born in Fargo, North Dakota, but grew up in Minnesota. His first cassette was White Snake, and that started his lifelong love of music. Derek grew up burning CD’s for all of the family’s road trips and always loved the feeling of satisfaction after making the perfect mix of music. He obtained his Social Work degree at Northwestern College in Iowa. When not DJing, Derek is a mental health social worker for an insurance company. Derek is married to a nurse, and has two cats, Charlie and Lucy. Derek likes to joke that he has a mixed marriage with his wife – he is a Vikings fan and she cheers on the Packers. In his free time he is active at his church and leads a Wednesday night kid’s Bible study. Derek loves to read sci-fi and fantasy, although he’ll devour a good book of any genre.
